the limitations of #stopdropandyoga or #yogaeverydamnday

Can you do a dancer's pose, or better yet a handstand, slap an Instagram filter on it, and be a legitimate yogi?

If you're reading this post, your newsfeed probably looks like mine - inspirational quotations, beautiful lunches, smoothies, and yoga pose photos. The hashtags I've noticed accompanying the yoga pose multi-platform posts are dominantly "stop drop and yoga" and "yoga every damn day".  These labels accompany images of smiling yogis striking a pose (voga?) anywhere from the grocery store to the golf course. While I may risk being devoid of fun, I'm going to take it, because I think you may need permission to brag about yourself. More on that later.

monday mantra: acceptance prayer

The last two weeks have been more challenging than I anticipated they would be. I participated in a yoga training that was, mildly put, disappointing, and had to turn around from a weekend away to relax when a throat and sinus infection made vacationing miserable. I could be really grumpy about it all, but I'm more than okay.

an easy way to namaste

Thousands of times I’ve placed my hands together to close a class, uttering namaste, yet my favorite place to consider the invocation is at the grocery store.

I recognize and bow to the divine in you.
